Amitabh Bachchan thanks Narendra Modi for acknowledging his role in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

PM Modi had lauded the superstar's contribution to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on this week's episode of his radio show, Mann Ki Baat.

Amitabh Bachchan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mutual admiration society continues to be in the news. The two have a long-standing association - Big B was the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism when Modi was the CM of the state.  

Amitabh has continued to voice his support for Modi's schemes - from Swachh Bharat to demonetisation. The Prime Minister remembered the superstar's writer father Harivansh Rai Bachchan on his show Mann Ki Baat, on the occasion of the celebrated poet's birth anniversary.

Modi lauded the actor's dedication in spreading the cause of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The PM took to Twitter to share an audio clip of him reciting a poem by the 74-year-old actor and captioned it: "A special message from @SrBachchan on Swachh Bharat."

Amitabh retweeted the post and thanked PM Modi: "My most gracious and respectful thanks to the honourable Prime Minister Mananiya Shri Narendra Modi-ji, for acknowledging my small contribution."
