Dear Zindagi becomes Shah Rukh Khan’s 8th highest day one opener


 Shah Rukh Khan's Dear Zindagi  has opened to rave reviews and  has earned Rs 8.75 crore on its  day one which is good considering  the film saw a limited release in  just 1200 screens.


 Shah Rukh Khan‘s Dear Zindagi has  opened to  rave reviews and has earned  Rs 8.75 crore on  its day one which is  good considering the film  saw a limited  release in just 1200 screens. This  was a  risky as well as smart move from him.      And it worked for him. On the outlook  the  opening day figures may not be,  one expects from a Shah Rukh Khan  starrer but if you look at the genre, the  release and promotions of the film then the opening collections are one of the best. In fact movie watching audience were aware that it’s an Alia Bhatt film and Shah Rukh Khan is in a supporting role.

With the opening of Rs 8.75 crore, the film has become the eighth highest grosser of Shah Rukh Khan. It has beaten the opening day figures of his 2010 release My Name Is Khan. And is right behind his 2012 release Jab Tak Hai Jaan. His highest still remains 2014’s Happy New Year, which earned Rs 44.97 crore. This year he had Fan which opened to Rs 19.2 crore.

The film is one of the lowest budgeted films of Shah Rukh Khan in recent times and its made on a budget of Rs 22 crore with an additional P&A cost of Rs 11 crore. His last release Fan was made on a budget of hopping Rs 85 crore.
The film is doing excellent business in overseas collecting Rs 5.40 crore in UAE/GCC (two days) and Rs 5.05 crore in USA (three days).
